I recently became a Red Thread Sessions photographer and I’m so excited to be a part of this awesome organization. Red Thread Sessions offers photography sessions for families who have recently adopted. To learn more about them, check out their site: http://www.redthreadsessions.com.
This adorable family was my first Red Thread session and I’m so thankful they let me capture their first photographs as a family of six. They chose a lifestyle baby/family session and I think it was the perfect choice. Everyone was in their element and we captured a lot of great images.
I thought it would be best if this little guy’s adoption story came straight from his mama.
“After adopting our 3 beautiful children from Japan, we knew our hearts were open to another. One day, we got the surprising news about a baby boy who had a difficult beginning. He was born with a congenital heart defect and had already undergone 2 open heart surgeries in his short 4 months. A couple of weeks passed while going back and forth trying to get his medical reports translated to English and also getting a grasp of what to expect in the weeks/months to come. We finally got a photo; the face of an angel. My husband said it best. He glanced at the photo and quickly replied, “He’s a Younger. Find out when we can go get him.” And that was it. From that day forward he wasn’t just Ren, he was “our” Ren. And we did everything in our power to get him home as quickly as possible. His heart journey is not over yet, but we are taking it day by day. The love, light, and joy that this boy exudes is unmatched. His siblings all adore him as much as we do. We can’t even imagine our family without our “Baby Ren.” His story is only just beginning, and what an honor it is that we get to be a huge part of it.”
